Exhibit on Jervois Showcases the Beauty of Architectural Finishes

Project: Exhibit on Jervois

Architecture: Monk Mackenzie

Development + Interiors: Artifact

Interior Direction: Amelia Holmes

Decorative Finishes: The Finish

Exhibit on Jervois is a boutique residential building in Herne Bay, Auckland, offering a quietly considered expression of contemporary urban housing.

The north-facing development directs living areas towards the Waitemata harbour views, with most apartments enjoying uninterrupted aspects.

Designed by Monk Mackenzie and developed by Artifact, the project embraces a refined material palette that brings warmth, texture, and continuity throughout the residences. It’s a standout example of how carefully selected surface finishes can elevate contemporary living environments.

Venetian Plaster and Microcement

The interiors feature a thoughtful combination of Venetian plaster and microcement, creating a cohesive aesthetic while meeting the practical demands of modern living. Hand-applied Novacolor Marmorino KS Venetian plaster has been used throughout the living spaces, delivering subtle movement, depth, and a soft mineral character that responds beautifully to natural light.

In bathrooms and other high-performance areas, Cemher microcement provides a seamless and durable finish. Its understated tonal variation complements the Venetian plaster, ensuring a smooth visual transition between functional and living spaces while maintaining the project's minimalist design language.

The result is a collection of interiors that feel sophisticated, timeless, and connected, demonstrating how premium decorative finishes can enhance both aesthetics and functionality. Exhibit on Jervois highlights the growing appeal of seamless surface solutions in high-end residential developments and showcases the impact of craftsmanship in contemporary architectural design.
