A Natural Rhythm: Thoughtful Design in Kaiteriteri

At Liv+, they believe every interior has its own rhythm, and the success of a project lies in the details that bring design and functionality together.

Set near Kaiteriteri, this long, single-storey home was designed with a strong connection to its natural surroundings. The interior embraces the warmth and character of native rimu, creating a considered palette that feels both grounded and timeless.

At the heart of the home, the kitchen cabinetry was stained in a deep, rich tone to anchor the central living space. Throughout the remainder of the home, the joinery was kept in its natural rimu finish, allowing the beauty and warmth of the timber to shine through.

Distinctive Details

The kitchen benchtops are finished in silverTouch® stainless steel — a distinctive 5mm surface that brings together form, function and enduring practicality. Its seamless, sleek finish helps minimise the appearance of fingerprints, cleaning streaks and scratches, while the warm, matte silver tone allows the space to feel modern and luxurious. Durable, heat resistant and hygienic, silverTouch® stainless steel is designed to perform beautifully in everyday life, making it the perfect addition to this space.

In the bathrooms, the Liv+ Aqvato Vesta Bred Basin introduces an element of sculptural design. Inspired by the art of origami, its defined ridges and rhombic forms create a striking silhouette that reveals something new from every angle.

In the living room, the K.TODT Design Cube brings practicality and character. Every Cube is unique — a one-of-a-kind piece crafted by Klaus Todt with meticulous attention to detail. Celebrating the natural beauty and individuality of wood, the Cubes are versatile additions to the home, designed to adapt to a variety of spaces and purposes.

A Collaboration of Local Design

This project also celebrates the work of other local businesses and carefully selected materials. Prime Veneer Rimu features throughout the kitchen, while FENIX Beige Luxor by ATP brings a subtle, sophisticated finish to the splashback and pantry.

Together, these elements create an interior that feels cohesive, warm and deeply connected to its surroundings — a reflection of Liv+’s belief that considered design is found in the details.
